In an worldly society based so strongly on religion, it is often the commentary that faith is the quintessential and defining characteristic of humanity (unfortunately, in my estimation, often confused with love). I find for no other reason than for the inner peace and comfort it provides to the one and to the masses, alike. But somewhere along the line we have confused comfort with happiness.
This is why I adopt the quote (here spelled in Ecclesian latin): "Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici" from the Faustus story meaning,
By the power of truth,
I, while living,
have conquered the universe
Anyone who knows the story of Faust will undoubtedly recognize the following, my manifesto:
While faith may offer some inner peace and perhaps even the world a united tranquility someday, it will always constrain humanity in the end to the heavens or the property of the devil. Therefore I declare my own inextinguishable thirst, my love, for knowledge, understanding, and experience--success and err--to be the redeeming, defining, and conquering characteristic of my own humanity.
